When Roe v. Wade was overturned, people across the nation turned to New York. The decision had two big impacts on New York: an influx of vulnerable abortion seekers traveling from other states seeking reproductive health services, and a robust movement from New York providers to offer care to patients beyond our borders. Despite New York’s reputation, we’re still facing high stakes legal uncertainty. And while some significant legislation protecting women’s health has passed, like shield-law protections, there’s opportunity for New York to cement reproductive rights protections.
Natalie is building a coalition of legal professionals from across the spectrum to ensure that New York fulfills its vision as a beacon of reproductive healthcare nationally. Building on her experience with telehealth innovation and policy, NYC Bar Association’s Sex & Law Committee, and her own practice, Repro Solutions PC, Natalie intimately understands what information means to practitioners providing care confidently. This new bar association is meeting this moment’s urgency, uniting legal professionals to protect patients, providers and effectively implement legislative strategies New York has fought so hard to enact. Eventually, Natalie envisions this bar association will give rise to similar coalitions nationally with New York providing an objective base, helping lawyers navigate new laws and providing a sense of clarity so practitioners can provide care with confidence.
