Davina started Compassionate Cleaning when she was helping a neighbor prepare for a visit from the Administration for Children’s Services. She quickly saw a deeper need in her community. Across New York City, people facing mental health challenges, housing insecurity, or burnout often live in spaces that feel overwhelming or unsafe. Davina offers something rare: cleaning and decluttering support grounded in care, not judgment.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her own lived experience, Davina connects deeply with her clients. She lives in NYCHA housing and has been in the city’s shelter system herself. Many of her clients are navigating similar systems and see themselves in her story. Davina has cleaned and transformed over 100 homes since 2018, reorganizing and redesigning them in affordable, rental-friendly ways. In sharing her progress, Davina has amassed an online following that not only helps her reach new clients that are in need, but extend empathy and education to a broader community.

Her work is practical and deeply personal. A clean, orderly home can prevent family separation, reduce anxiety, and restore a sense of dignity. As demand grows, Davina is on a mission to build a company that can serve New Yorkers across the five boroughs more efficiently. She wants to train others in her client-centered approach and expand a service that’s as much about healing as it is about cleaning.
