Beatrice is a mom of 10 and grew up in the Orthodox Jewish community. Recognizing the importance of secular education for her own children attending Jewish community yeshivas, Beatrice became inspired to help her son — who dreams of working for NASA someday — to advocate for children to receive the education they are legally entitled to — broader curriculum and teaching within the Jewish community.

Beatrice became the new Executive Director of YAFFED in 2022, an organization spotlighting educational neglect in New York City’s Hasidic schools. She aims to leverage the Prize to publicly push stakeholders in New York state and city to enforce the law as written, ensuring that yeshivas provide an equivalent secular education to all of their students.
